Book of Happiness

I received my copy of "The Tub of Happiness" by Howard Talyer. For the uninitiated, this is the latest installment of the Schlock Mercenary books. Even though this is the third book, this installment starts at where this serial comic begins, back in June 2000. There is even a special pre-story included. So you should get a copy as well.

Why am I recommending this? Outside of the shear joy this book brings, are you sensing a private agenda? Well, I don't mean to name drop (yes I do), but this Howard Tayler, besides being a web comic extraordinaire, just so happens to be my cousin.

Thanks for the post. I'm still wallowing in the after-glow of the happiness. Take care.

My Tub o Happiness arrived! With my very own Ennesby sketchy!

Yea! Loved the prequel. And even though the art doesn't have the smooth professionalism that is Today's Schlock - yesterday's Schlock is still recognizable, and the writing started out good from the beginning. Seeing the backstory to today's events in dead tree form is just ... well... one big tub o happiness!

PS: I had forgotten all about the "random molecules" that the 'tear-a-part' supposedly used to eat when it converted mass to travel. We don't hear much about that any more... Did Schlock ever get back his/her "Sports Lustyrated" collection, or was it really gone forever?

(I have a theory about Schlock. Likes to look at swimsuits, seeks chocolate as a comfort food, likes relationships based primarily on mental compatibility, kicks ass with a nice big round gun that makes an omminousss hummmmm. Sounds female to me. Ok. My kind of female! Can even, apparently, generate amorphous off-spring if cut into pieces. Schlock has - mostly - reabsorbed the satellite Schlock, but it seems that that is more or less how the animorphs reproduce?)

Grin. Schlock - Alien Girl with Gun - I like it! ;)
